A Dog’s Purpose
A Dog’s Purpose
As an ardent dog lover, I was anxiously awaiting this movie to come out. The story is a tad over the top and contrived, but still very sweet and watchable.(Yes, I even teared up a time or two!)
It’s the story of Bailey a Retriever who finds himself living and dying several times (in a cat with nine lives sort of way) only to find himself waking up and starting over life in the body of a different breed of dog every time. He’s constantly pondering the meaning or “purpose” in each life and is always learning and experiencing the many different struggles and adventures that abound as he goes along. (Think Highlander for dogs without the sword fighting.)
In the end, it’s a really sweet story of man and his best friend and a fun insight to a dog’s mind. Oh, and I am also a sucker for old man Dennis Quaid movie roles!
Despite all of the recent filming controversy(which I detested watching), I did find the movie to be very entertaining to watch and truly heartwarming. In fact, I couldn’t wait to get home to hug my own puppy!
This is a good one for the family and a sweet 7 out of 10.
