Elvis

As an Elvis fan, I was very much looking forward to seeing this Biopic on his life. Director Baz Luhrmann did a marvelous job of showing viewers all of the triumphs and tribulations that Elvis went through from a young kid to global superstar.

Let’s get one thing straight here…Austin Butler who plays Elvis is a shining star and very worthy of Oscar consideration in this movie. From the mannerisms to the voice, his acting here is simply tremendous! Colonial Parker is played by Tom Hanks and from the start you can see how much of a slimeball he was and that many people say he caused the death of Elvis due to overworking him to pay off his own debts. Hanks does a great job of being the villain and maybe reaches a bit over the top to portray him that way.

I found the movie to be utterly entertaining and very factual from all the things I have read and seen from the past. I hope the younger generation will watch and see just how great Elvis was and what he meant to our music industry.
