Shortcomings

Shortcomings is the directorial debut of Randal Scott and this movie proves that he may have a pretty bright future as a director. The interesting thing about this movie is that every character that we are introduced to is flawed in some way.

The most flawed, however, is main character Ben (Justin Min) whose anger, ego, and overall narcissism complicates all of his relationships. His girlfriend Miko (Ally Maki) has enough of his attitude, lack of affection, and wandering eye, so she decides to take a relationship break from him and move to New York for an internship.

Here is where the movie takes turns revealing many characters like Sasha (Debbie Ryan) , Alice (Sherry Cola), and Autumn (Tavi Gevinson) who you want to all like, but only get disappointed by in the end. In fact, throughout the whole process, I felt like I wanted to simply punch Ben most of all.

There were some really good and funny scenes throughout, as well as a few cringeworthy moments, but all in all, it is a pretty entertaining movie that keeps your attention and possibly wanting more in the end!

The Kitchen

If you’re not a fan of visceral gore, the sound of gunshots, or close-ups of angry faces, then The Kitchen is not for you. And even if you are a fan of those things—I still don’t think The Kitchen is for you. Even when viewed from a technical standpoint, the scenes cuts are jumpy, with...
