Showing Up

While watching Showing Up I found myself feeling like I was watching a real life unfold.  The film has a very authentic feel to it.  One thing that really stood out was the music.  It was subtle, but still resonated with me.  In a world where so many films are based around superheroes, action and out of this world themes this film felt fresh and different.  While some may find this film a little slow, it’s about the character interactions and seeing a film from a real world perspective.  Michelle Williams was spot on, as usual.  And the rest of the cast certainly held their own as well.  Don’t go into this film expecting to see tons of action, but if you like drama films that feel original, this film is worth taking a shot on.  7/10
