The Identical

I really wanted to like this movie, but the overabundance of cheesiness, overacting, and the replaying of the same songs over and over simply made me crazy.

The fictional premise is loosely based on the life of Elvis Presley had his still-born brother actually been alive and given away after birth to grow up and and lead a much different life. Ryan Wade who is played by Blake Rayne(who happens to be a real life Elvis Impersonator) does a decent job portraying the talented singer stifled by his preacher father (Ray Liotta), but it’s clear to see that acting is very new to him. Lots of overacting and blank stares that made me quite uncomfortable watching. Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd did a decent job considering the bad script they had to work with.

Without spoiling, I’ll just say that a bigger budget and a better director could have made this film 100 times better. It simply did not flow together well and was impeccably predictable to the very end.

On a positive note, it’s a film that any age can see and good for the family as long as you do not try to think about it too much.
