Unhinged

Well this is no Russell Crowe in Gladiator for sure!  Director Derrick Borte’s horror/thriller featuring a bulked up and unstable Russell Crowe leaves viewers on the edge of their seat throughout.  The film starts as Crowe’s character Tom Cooper is seen very upset with his Ex wife (so much so, he burns down her house and kills her and her lover.)  This is just the start of his very bad day as when single mom Rachel (Caren Pistorius) decides to aggressively honk at him when he doesn’t drive through a green light, the road rage ensues!

The rest of the film is a thrill based ride as poor Rachel  runs for her life trying to avoid Cooper.  Honestly, it was pretty downright scary and I promise that I won’t be honking at anyone anytime soon! I found it to be a fun film as it kept my attention throughout.  It is definitely a different look for Crowe but one he does quite well.(Once you can get over the fact that you are looking at the same guy who played the great Maximus Decimus Meridius!

Curse of La Llorona

So in recent years there has been a raise in truly terrifying films lurking in the dark. Films such as Hereditary, The Babadook, The Witch, The Eyes of My Mother and the arrestingly weird Suspiria are all the products of indie visionaries spinning their relatively small budgets into gold. But...
