Deadpool
This is definitely NOT your your ordinary superhero movie! In fact, Deadpool is the story of Wade Wilson(Marvel’s most unconventional Anti-hero played marvelously by Ryan Reynolds) who started out as a former special forces operative turned mercenary who gains extraordinary powers via a rogue experiment gone bad. Wade takes up the name “Deadpool” and goes out and seeks revenge on the villain (played by Ed Skrein) who ran the experiments.
Ok let me just say this…This movie is NOT for kids! In fact, the studio gave this film an “R” rating and it is most deservedly so. There is so much violence, language, nudity, and overall raunchiness, etc… in this film that parents will literally cringe if watching with their kids. (I know I would.) That being said, this is probably one of the most enjoyable and hilarious movies that I have seen in awhile! In fact, I don’t remember seeing a movie where the whole theatre is laughing throughout so many times since maybe “Trainwreck.” The die hard comic book lovers of Deadpool will rejoice in happiness as director Tim Miller takes the safety belts off and pretty much allows the characters to to do and say just about anything.
Being an “R” rated movie for Marvel is a big gamble since much of their demographic is teens, so I am curious how it will do at the Box Office. In order to do this character and the movie justice though, it had to be this way and the movie never disappoints. The plot is typical Marvel good guy going after bad guy with a love interest mingled in and also some cameos by new Marvel characters as well as some old ones.
I won’t give out any spoilers or ruin any surprises, so I’ll keep this review short and just say that that Deadpool will keep you entertained throughout literally from the opening credits to the very end and is one I highly recommend! (To Adults that is.)
