Transformers: Age of Extinction

I know Director Michael Bay loves to blow stuff up, but he takes it to the next level with Transformers:Age of Extinction! The latest installment of Optimus Prime and the boys contains tons of explosions, chases, and mayhem for almost THREE FULL HOURS!(A total teenager boy’s dream.) As for we adults, this much over indulgence in action scenes simply leaves us numb after awhile.(I mean how much of the same can one honestly take?)

Mark Wahlburg(Cade Yeager) is definitely a step up from Shia LeBouf in the lead role, but not even his good acting chops can save the plot which is hardly believable to begin with. Kelsey Grammer (Harold Attinger) and Stanley Tucci( Joshua Joyce) also get an honorable mention , but the rest of the cast is pretty forgetful.

There were a few decent moments for diehard fans …especially when the Dinobots and Lockdown made their debuts. The action scenes while overdone, are quite fun to watch at the beginning.(Just not three hours worth.) The CGI and special effects are well done in spots and I do still love the soundtrack in this series. I know Michael Bay doesn’t care as the movie will earn quite well(Especially overseas) and that’s a big deal these days. Speaking of following the money, this movie pretty much sells out so much to commercial product placement, it’s almost comical.

All in all, it’s the same old formula and typical sequel nonsense that the kiddos will love. At least we adults had the first one to enjoy.
