Storks

Warner Brother’s newest animated movie, Storks, is a kid’s movie that the whole family can enjoy. The story begins up in the sky at Cornerstone.com (think Amazon… run by storks!). In past years, the storks have been known to deliver babies to families, however, they have changed their business model to now strictly deliver packages.

Junior (Andy Samberg), an up and coming delivery stork at Cornerstone, has been offered a promotion by Hunter (Kelsey Grammar), a boastful and arrogant stork, to become BOSS. His first task – fire “The orphan Tulip” who is an 18 year old quirky and clutsy gadget making girl, who was accidently orphaned with the storks after a crazed stork Jasper (Danny Trejo) wants to keep her and accidently destroys her homing beacon and cannot deliver her to her human parents. Now that she is 18, Hunter has decided she needs to be “liberated” and set free. Junior is torn when he sees her sadness about not having a true family and instead gives her a job in the now defunct mail room of the baby factory, where she basically has nothing to do all day every day.

One day a letter arrives from a little boy named Nate (Anton Starkman). Nate is an only child with workaholic real estate working parents (Ty Burrell and Jennifer Aniston) who have very little time to spend with him. He decides to write to the storks to request a baby “ninja” brother of his very own. Tulip receives the letter and fires up the baby making machine which produces a new “delivery” sending both Tulip and Junior on a comical trip together to deliver this new bundle of joy to its family and save Junior’s new promotion.

The duo’s “air/road” trip is filled with lots of twists and turns along the way, including a pack of wolves who want to keep the adorable baby for their own filled with lots of laughs and feel good moments. In the end, the message is one of parenthood and bonds and family. Oh and parents, be prepared to answer the question “where do babies come from”!
