The Weight
Based in 1933 Oregon, The weight is a story about down on his luck Samuel Murphy (Ethan Hawke) as he loses his daughter after being sent to prison. While in prison, Murphy decides that he will do anything to get out of there so that he can see his daughter again before the state takes ownership of her. He is approached by Warden Clancy (Russell Crowe) to lead a group of men to transport gold across the wilderness so that looters cannot steal it from the base camp.
What follows is a daring and entertaining adventure full of pitfalls and tribulations. The story is much like a Shawshank Redemption tale and the acting(especially by Hawke) was very good!
If the movie does not get buried by being released so early, Hawke should see his name on some best actor nominations. The Weight is a solid watch and worthy of an 8/10.
