The Secret Life of Pets 2

When the original Secret life of Pets was launched I was skeptical.  However it was innovative and very entertaining.  The storyline was fresh and the characters were one of a kind. Fast forward to the sequel and I can’s say the same.  This time, my 5 year old son was my critique in training and one of the highlights was that the baby human character had is name, Liam.

This sequel fell short in many areas.  But mainly in the fact that it tried to do to much in too little time.  Multiple storylines end up falling short as it fails to draw in the audience into any of them.  It’s three vignettes crammed into 90 that end up feeling like disjointed TV movie. One of the funniest and memorable characters is a gobbling turkey and that is never a good sign.  Although it is entertaining it lacked the spark of the original.

On the upside the young ones will enjoy it and will walk out happy, and as my little critique mentioned, “it made me laugh dad and I am happy.”

Hiram Score. 7/10

Liam Score 10/10
