Final Destination – Bloodlines

The latest version of Final Destination has arrived.  For fans of the series, this latest version won’t disappoint.  There are plenty of new, ridiculous ways to kill off characters.  Just when you think you’ve seen it all, they come up with something new.  This film does a solid job of building up the drama and keeping you on the edge of your seat.

This time around the writers seemed to spend a little extra time on the story.  It has a better story line and character development than some of the previous Destination films. The film does a good job explaining the back story and helping the audience understand why all of this is happening.  There is certainly more depth this time around, which gives you a stronger connection to many of the characters.

The film does a great job combing suspense, comedy and gore.  While this isn’t a full fledged horror film, it has plenty of horror elements that will scare the audience.  And if you don’t mind a little blood and guts, then you’ll love the death scenes and how elaborate they are.  It’s amazing that the Destination films haven’t run their course yet, but this latest version might just be the best one.

And let’s not forget the emotional Tony Todd appearance.  Sadly he passed away, but Destination pays tribute to him and fans will love that.  He had an amazing career in horror and has been a big part of the Destination franchise.  He will be sorely missed.

Whether on a date, out with some friends or on your own, this is a film worth watching.  So take a deep breath, sit back and enjoy this latest version of Final Destination.

Final Score- 7/10
